Best idea yet.
THE BASICS: write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.
STEP ONE
** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA for the sake of privacy.
** Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!
STEP TWO
** Surf this forum (
[link] ) and browse the lists. Here's the important part:
** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My list
1. A friendly note or holiday card. I love being loved.
2. A DA Subscription. I really want ot improve on my art and through the many years of internet, this is my one place to connect with other artists and feel at home.
3. Time. It seems like an odd request, but life moves so fast, and I would love to have it slow down just for a bit so I can do everything I want to do. Get better at things I already do, and try new thing I want to do. Read a book, draw a picture, watch old movies, or just chill and watch nature.
4. Books, books and more books. I absolutely love to read. Even if it's just a title and not the actual book, I'll find it sometime and read it.
5. scholarships. Lord knows I'm gonna need a million to go through a University and Vet school. If you know of a name, or a site, drop me one.
6. To win something, bigger than just a class at a show, like the whole thing! I've never actually come in completely first in anything I've done individually, besides, some Horse classes and track races, but nothing monumentally great. Actually i've never even won a contest either, but I don't really have much time for those anyway.
7. That gosh darned guy. I've liked him since forever, it'd be nice to actually have the real him, instead of just my dream him.
8. To find a little Kid or two living near me that wants to help me clean and stuff in exchange for riding my ponies.
9. To expand my knowledge through others. Have a good story? Maybe an article that was interesting? Send it my way. I love to learn, learning from real people is so much more fun than just a big book.
10. Everyone to be happy. I know it's overrated, but wouldn't it be nice to just have a time when everyone is joyful and no one is Sad, or angry.

Lmao. That reminds me of one time when I was going to an amusement park and this guy in front of me had a bumper sticker that said "I'm not wearing any pants," so I took a picture and he saw me... He waved questioningly and I was like O_______________O and then I took my hoodie and pretended they were pants, as if I had my pants off too.
He probably got a real kick out of it haha
